Web Design Is Just The Start Of The Process

I’ve been doing Web design and development for more than 15 years. In that time, my company, Goldstein Media LLC, came to fruition and our services grew from just Web design and development to Search Engine Optimization (SEO/PPC),  Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, and most recently Podcast Production.

Just The Start – Onward To SEO, Social Media Marketing and More

What I’ve learned in my many years in the business is that Web design is just the start of the process. A company can’t just build a Website and watch the visitors flock to their site. It’s never actually happened that way, and, especially now, it doesn’t.

In a previous post, I wrote about the holistic approach to Internet marketing and this is really the way everyone needs to look at it.

The Process Continues Past The Design/Development Phase

The process usually looks like something like this:

  1. Find a firm that does everything, or almost everything, needed.
  2. Meet with them
  3. Hire them
  4. Build a site with the future marketing needs in mind
  5. Launch the site
  6. Start optimizing it for Google and the other search engines
  7. Build out a social media presence
    1. This includes a calendar of content that will be posted on social media and the blog
      1. Content creation is key at this step as the more quality content you produce the more you’ll show up in search and the more people will visit your site from social media

Find The Right Firm

As stated before, it’s a good idea to find a firm that does almost everything you need from the get-go, that way there is not as much back and forth and chances for miss communication among parties.

What do you think? Does the process stop at Web design for you? Post your thoughts in the comments below.
