Goldstein Media has been going through some changes. As business picks up I’ve had to figured out how to scale without going broke.
It’s now mid-March 2018, business has been coming in at a rate that I, honestly, haven’t seen since starting the business 10 years ago.
Because of this, I’ve started to bring on more contractors (local/regional to my general geographic area is a must) to help with the work load. This doesn’t mean that I hand them the work and say run with it. Not a chance, I manage the whole project from start to finish.
A Hard Look At My Processes
With the rate of new clients, I’ve had to take a hard look at our processes and how we get things done.
One of the first steps in this process was to started employing a better project management system (Basecamp 3) and realigned our file systems (Google Filestream and DropBox).
A Great Choice For Networking – PowerMatch
One of the biggest things I’ve done is join a networking group that is like none others… PowerMatch.
PowerMatch is not a one-per-industry BNI/LeTip type organization. It’s more of a match making service for businesses.
Through PowerMatch, I’ve met my new accountant and many amazing strategic partners. This has also included some great new clients that might not have known about Goldstein Media otherwise.
With Growth Comes Challenges
With the recent growth of Goldstein Media, I personally have hired a business coach to help me along this journey. One of the keys that I see when hiring a consultant like a coach is to find one that you have synergy with and in my case, someone local so that we can meet in person. My brain does so much better when I’m facing the person face-to-face than any other way.
Change And Growth Is Good, But Scary Too
Change, especially positive change is a good thing. So is growth. But it’s also scary and stressful. But making the time to get it right, which is what I’m focusing on right now, is key.
