Entrepreneur’s Enigma | Dusty Davidson On Starting, Building, Growing, and Exiting Startups

Dusty Davidson didn’t always want to be an entrepreneur. But when he decided that the corporate world wasn’t right for him, he decided to try his hand at running his own business. Moving to California to Silicon Valley, wasn’t an option. Dusty had met his wife and had already put down roots in Omaha, Nebraska. So he made his hometown his hub, and started his journey.
Dusty has had multiple successful exits, the most recent was with his WordPress-optimized hosting platform Flywheel (affiliate link) to WP Engine. He now runs Workshop, an internal team communication suite of tools.
This is his story.

Entrepreneur’s Enigma | Travis Brown On Finding A Niche When Not Even Searching For One

Travis is a bit of a renaissance man. He’s not just a podcaster. He’s not just a rocker. He’s not just a crazy Instagram nut-job. He’s all of that mixed into one amazing, friendly, helpful, lovable package.
Travis has always been creative. He says it has to do with escaping from the reality of his parent’s divorces and normal childhood issues. Instead of turning to drugs and alcohol as a kid he turned to creativity and started building stuff.
In high school and right after, Travis, along with three friends started a semi-successful rock band and toured the country. After hitting a wall in success, Travis decided to take these talents and put them to good use. After taking a cubicle-hell job with an hour-long commute, he started listening to podcasts and knew he could help these creators sound better to match the quality of the content. Soon after his podcast/audio engineering agency was born.
After the agency started, everything started to come together. Best of all Pod Decks, for which he’s known for came about as a fluke and now is a 6-figure business for him.

Entrepreneur’s Enigma | How A Simple Side Hustle Turned Into The Main Entrepreneurial Gig For Joe Singer

Note: We had some technical issues with the sound. But the content is great.

Joe Singer was working hard in the CRM business, when his software developer came to him with a neat, innovative, new idea for business intelligence. Joe, who is a 20 year veteran of the entrepreneurial space, jumped on the idea and Merged Analytics was born. Merged Analytics helps companies connect with their website visitors without using the dreaded cookies.
Joe Singer is a fellow Fighting Blue Hen (University of Delaware). He has been both in corporate America and on his own. He is currently the Co-Founder of Merged Analytics.
Joe resides in Connecticut with his wife and two kids. During the recording of this episode, we had to deal with a little internet wackiness, but all-in-all, we rolled with it and here you go. Just like in entrepreneurship, you have to roll with what you have.
Find out more about Joe and Merged Analytics on LinkedIn.
